Thank you from the Guild Library
Tuesday, June 5th, 2007It is time to thank all the volunteers who have worked in the library during this past year: thank you volunteers. Three people come early so the library is open one hour before the meeting and open again during the break in the meeting making it possible for other members to browse and choose books and journals to take home.
All of us working with the library would appreciate having more members become part of the library “staff.” Perks include having a first look at the current journals and new books. It is also a great way to get to know what is in the library as people take out and return books and journals. I have found it a good way to discover interesting books and journals to read myself. Probably one of the greatest perks is getting to know the other people working in the library and chatting with members as they check out library materials.
Please volunteer for the library. It is a great way to become a contributing member of the guild. Georgina Hale makes up the monthly schedule of workers. Please contact her by phone or email or speak with her in the library at the day meeting in May. People familiar with the library will be glad to give you an orientation as to how materials are handled in the library so you will not be left on your own.
See you in the library! Myrna Lindstrom, Guild Librarian
