Borrowing by Mail
The following are the conditions for borrowing by mail from the guild library:
- Books and other items from the library are available for borrowing by any member in good standing. Please note that due to border difficulties, loans are only available within Canada to Canadian mailing addresses.
- Items may be requested by mail, or by email to the Guild Librarian. Please provide your name, your mailing address, and membership number, and the titles of items you wish to borrow.
- Materials are sent via Canada Post parcel rate with appropriate insurance. The borrower will pay postage and insurance both ways. Reimbursement of the Guild is to be in the form of a cheque or money order. Library materials do not need to be sent via registered mail.
- Items from the library may be borrowed for 2 months. They must be posted for return by the stamped date shown on the Date Due slip inside the book. Books should be returned to the Guild Librarian.
- To request a renewal of any materials on loan, contact the Guild Librarian by mail, or email. Please provide your name, as well as the titles of the items you would like to renew. You may renew materials one time for an additional 2 months.
- Items not returned when due are subject to a fine of $1.00 per item per month over due. Library privileges will be withdrawn until the items are returned to the library and fines paid.
- Any item listed in the catalogue may be reserved if it is out on loan. Your request will be filled and the item forwarded as soon as possible.
- Borrowers automatically agree to replace mutilated or lost library items with a duplicate copy or one of similar content approved by the Guild Librarian.

Information: I asked a clerk at Canada Post to weigh the following: 4 issues of Handwoven; Mastering Weave Structures by S. Alderman; New Key to Weaving by M. Black. Each of the 3 would fit into a bubble pack mailing envelope. Postage is based on the size of the package, weight, & the postal code. An example of the cost to mail any one of the 3 of these, including insurance for $100.00, would be between $10.00 and $12.00 one way — between $20.00 and $24.00 for the borrower.
